Willow Springs, Mo. - The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety and St. John's St. Francis Hospital are sponsoring FREE AARP Older Driver Classroom Training on Wednesday, March 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The training will be held at St. John's St. Francis Hospital at 100 W. The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first, and largest, refresher course for drivers aged 50 and older. Participants will learn current rules of the road, how to operate their vehicles more safety, the effects of medications on driving, and how to adjust their driving to suit common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time.
Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety Regional Coordinator, Kelly Martin said she hopes seniors take part in this free offer, "this is a great opportunity for our senior drivers to hone their driving skills and make Missouri's roadways safer." Seniors who take part in the training will not only learn useful skills, but may be eligible for discounts on their auto insurance.
