2009-2013 Statewide Highway & Bridge Construction Schedule

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of Jan. 5-9, 2009. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 between Route 7 and Route MM – Roadway maintenance will take place on Friday, Jan. 9.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Route 65 between Frisch Road and Mt. Olivet Road, north of Lincoln – Roadway maintenance will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 6 and Wednesday, Jan. 7.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Boone County

Overnight/Daylight Hours

Route 763 between Big Bear Blvd. and Prathersville Road in Columbia – Roadway widening.

   * Blue Ridge Road on the east side of Route 763 will remain closed as traffic is switched to a new section of roadway. Traffic is using a marked detour around the closure.

   * The roadway between Big Bear Blvd. and Prathersville Road in various locations is narrowed to ten feet.

   * Construction of the roundabout continues at Prathersville Road.  The remaining portion of the roundabout is expected to open within a few weeks.

   * Brown School Road West at Route 763 is currently closed to traffic.

The project is expected to be complete by August 2009.

Camden County

Overnight/Daylight Hours

Route 54 Expressway, between Business 54 and the Grand Glaize Bridge – Grading, paving and new bridge construction. 

    *  Grading and drainage operations have stopped until January 15, 2009.

    *  Crews are waiting for warmer weather to pour the bridge deck for the Fish Hatchery Road Bridge.

    *  Work is underway for the Osage Beach Parkway South bridge substructure.

    *  New signals and lighting are being installed along the existing Route 54.

    *  East and westbound traffic on existing Route 54 is using the bypass between Route 42 and Bluff Road.  The bridge within the bypass has a width restriction of two 10-foot lanes.  This traffic configuration will remain in place through spring 2009.

The project will be complete by 2010.

Route 5 from two miles south of the Niangua Bridge to south of Camdenton near Route 7 – New roadway, interchanges, bridges and paving. 

    *  Paving of Route 5 has ceased until warmer weather. 

    * Grading and drainage work is being done for the new alignment at Willow Creek Rd.

    * Installation of highway signing will take place throughout project area. 

    * New signals and lighting are being installed on the new Route 54/Route 5 interchange.

No traffic delays at this time.  This project is expected to be complete in 2009.

Howard’s Ford on County Road NN-166

Griswald’s Slab on County Road N-145

Green’s Slab on County Road N-166R - Low water crossing modifications.  All three roadways cross the Little Niangua River northwest of Route N, near Macks Creek.  The work is being done as part of MoDOT’s efforts to mitigate environmental impacts for nearby highway construction.  The modifications will also reduce maintenance needs and reduce the frequency of flooding. Griswald’s Slab on County Road N-145 is now open. Green’s Slab on County Road N-166R and Howard’s Ford on County Road NN-166 remain closed.  Motorists should find alternate routes during construction.

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Route 73 and the Hickory County line – Roadway maintenance will take place.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Route 5 between Old Route 5 and south of Route P in Laclede County – Shared four-lane highway.  Excavation, rock removal, erosion control and drainage work continues on the north end of the project. This portion of the project is expected to be complete by early fall 2009.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 179 between West Truman Blvd. and the Moniteau County line – Sign replacements in various locations along the route.  One lane will be open to traffic in each work area.

Route T between Route 50 and Route 179 – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, Jan. 5 and Tuesday, Jan. 6.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Route Z between old Route 50 and Route 179 – Roadway maintenance will take place on Friday, January 9. One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Route NN between Old Route 50 and Route N – Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 7 and Thursday, Jan. 8.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

I-70 between Route K and the Saline County line – Roadway maintenance will take place in various locations. One eastbound and westbound lane will be open to traffic in each work area.

Route A between Route 50 and approximately 3 miles east – Roadway maintenance will take place on Thursday, Jan. 8.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Route K, just north of I-70 - Concrete replacement.  One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route P between Route 28 and Route 50

Route EE between Route 28 and the Crawford County line – Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 7 and Thursday, Jan. 8.  One lane will be open to traffic in each work area.
