Contract Awarded for Whitton Expressway Improvements
At its monthly meeting in St. Louis, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract for improvements along Whitton Expressway in Jefferson City. Emery Sapp and Sons of Columbia, Mo. submitted the low bid of $20,332,366 for the work.
The improvements include a new interchange at U.S. Route 50 and Lafayette Street and adding a lane in each direction from Monroe Street to Lafayette Street and from Lafayette to Clark Avenue. Five bridges along the corridor will be replaced, and one will be rehabilitated. Initial work on the project is expected to begin by the end of 2014. (MORE)
