I-70 Narrows to 12' for Blackwater Bridge Rehab
Project Runs April 20 - September
A high-impact project will affect Interstate 70 traffic flow this summer.
Rehabilitation of the Blackwater Bridges in Saline County near mile marker 77 began April 20. The work requires reduction to a single, 12-foot wide lane in each direction around the clock - for the duration of the project. Pavement work will also take place between the bridge site and the Cooper County line.
Expect heavy congestion in the area. On high-travel days, backups could be measured in multiple miles. More information is available at http://www.modot.org/kansascity/major_projects/I-70_Blackwater_Bridges.htm.
